Customized Counseling

The effectiveness of a job search is greatly enhanced by a career transition plan tailored to each individual's unique background and aspirations, in conjunction with caring support and a realistic, proactive approach.

Team Approach

A seasoned executive is accustomed to evaluating input and recommendations from multiple sources before making key decisions. The BeamPines Career Transition program is based on the same decision-making principle. An individual transitioning with us interacts and works with many members of BeamPines, who function as the executive's personal staff. They form a team of specialists, which the individual will use as a resource throughout the career transition process.

Every Career Transition team includes:

  • A BeamPines General Manager, who has a background of senior-level corporate experience and who leads the team, serving as the principal advisor, directing the campaign and coordinating involvement of the other team members;
  • A BeamPines Psychologist, with extensive career assessment and business experience, after understanding the executive's strengths, personality, motivational patterns, interests and priorities, will suggest suitable career options and ideal environments and cultures;
  • Additional BeamPines Consultants, selected for particular areas of expertise, industry knowledge or contacts, will provide cross-counseling and add perspective to the career transition strategy;
  • Our Research Team, who creates a competitive interviewing advantage by accessing customized company, industry and executive information from the broadest array of sources. In addition to on-line databases, customized research is done at specialized public, business and university libraries and complemented with proactive job development efforts;
  • An experienced Administrative support staff to meet the production needs of each individual.

The Career Transition Process

Evaluation Phase

  • Based on the executive's priorities, interviews and a select battery of questionnaires, a comprehensive written report is prepared by a BeamPines psychologist, and discussed with the individual.
  • This Executive Career Transition assessment examines vocational interests, strengths, competencies, developmental needs and potential.
  • Appropriate career directions and the "ideal" environment and culture are discussed among the candidate, the psychologist and the lead Consultant.

The Transition Campaign

  • Career strategy and Job Search plan are formulated.
  • Achievement-driven resume and an exit statement are prepared.
  • Personal stationery, office needs, telephone and production assistance are made available throughout the program.
  • Targets of new employment opportunities, a network of contacts and job sources are identified, researched and developed.
  • Mailings to selected search firms/target companies or venture capital firms are sent out.
  • Networking techniques and interviewing skills are developed and continually fine-tuned throughout the transition process.
  • Consultants are available for day-to-day advice and support.

Entrepreneurial Counseling

  • We offer our expertise in strategic planning, financing and marketing to design a business plan.
  • While the individual remains responsible for finding or developing the company, the BeamPines team can provide introductions to outside advisers who have successfully packaged entrepreneurial enterprises in the past.
  • Based on the individual's personality traits, skills, experience and financial resources we help the candidate determine the practicality of potential directions.
  • We remain in close contact with the executive evaluating opportunities, alternative means of financing through negotiations and well after the business is purchased or launched.

Negotiation Phase

  • Job offers are evaluated and discussed.
  • Coaching on negotiation of compensation packages and employment agreements is provided.

Integration Coaching

  • Assistance in adjusting/assimilating to the new culture is available to the candidate during integration.
  • Consultant continues to respond to issues as they develop by offering advice, support and referrals.
