Mike has over 20 years experience in developing, counseling and training executives in line and staff functions. He has held senior line management and human resources positions in the Food/Consumer Packaged Goods, Healthcare, Aerospace, Defense and Transportation industries, both domestically and internationally.
Mike's areas of specialization include helping executives increase their effectiveness by enhancing their interpersonal skills (active listening, assertion, conflict resolution). He also has a strong track record of assisting in career management of senior executives.
Mike joined BeamPines from Cadbury-Schweppes, Inc., where he was Vice President, Human Resources for the Confectionery Division in U.S. and Canada. There he directed the significant restructuring of the division, restoring sales and profit growth. Before Cadbury, he was at ABEX Corporation, where he directed worldwide Talent Management activities for 25 strategic business units. While there, he also implemented numerous productivity and quality improvement initiatives. His earlier experiences in both line management, as well as human resources at Cooper Laboratories and Sterling Drug, have enabled Mike to provide pragmatic counsel to executives. At Sterling, he was a key member of a team that developed and marketed several new consumer products that still command a dominant market share.
Mike is a Founding Board Member of the Human Resource Planning Society of Western New England and currently serves as their Program Chairman. He is a past Director of the National Society of Sales Training Executives, President of the New York Chapter; ASTD and Institute of Management Consultants. In addition, Mike is a founding member of the Hartford Chapter of the International Association of Career Management Professionals, having served as Program Chairman. He is also a Founder and Director of AGORA, the Forum for Workplace Ethics and Economic Justice, and has served as President and a Trustee of the Litchfield Performing Arts, producer of the Litchfield Jazzfest, which draws 10,000 attendees yearly.
Mike received his B.S. degree in Marketing from the University of Bridgeport.
