As a clinical psychologist, Mauricio brings a deep understanding of people’s motivation and their ability to perform and adapt to stressful situations. Coupled with his experience in assessment in a variety of settings, Mauricio helps clients measure their abilities and see their potential.
Prior to joining BeamPines, Mauricio was on staff at the Bronx VA Medical Center working with army veterans and their families. Under that position he provided cognitive, personality, and neuropsychological assessments as well as individual and group psychotherapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Mauricio’s approach to assessment focuses on identifying his client’s particular strengths while discovering opportunities for development and working with his clients to overcome or adapt.
As a psychologist, Mauricio believes that the process of self-discovery is crucial to optimal performance in any environment. Additionally, he works with clients to achieve quantifiable goals when trying to tackle stressful situations or adapting to new environments.
Prior to earning his Psy.D, Mauricio was as international sales and marketing manager for Net2Phone inc. and IDT Corp. As sales manager, Mauricio worked with companies around the world such as Deutche Telecom, Telefonica and Tel-Mex to establish strategic relationships and develop joint ventures within these companies markets.
Mauricio holds a Psy.D and MA in Clinical Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University. He also earned his BA in Psychology from Yeshiva University with Cum Laude and Psychology honors. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and brings his extensive multicultural training to the assessment practice. Mauricio lives in the Bronx with his wife and three children.
