As a clinical psychologist, Mauricio believes that the process of self-discovery is crucial to optimal performance in any environment. Mauricio heads the Assessment practice at BeamPines and is responsible for the seamless integration of executive assessment into all of the firm’s service offerings (Search, Coaching, Legacy, Outplacement, Diversity, Team Development). He emphasizes the use of assessments to gain a better understanding of people’s strengths and development opportunities to craft a personal action plan that helps maximize their potential. Once goals are established with the client, Mauricio works to create a trusting and collaborative environment to uncover patterns in relationship management, emotional intelligence and communication that can be leveraged or adapted to reach peak performance. As a coach Mauricio has significant healthcare, finance and CPG experience.

Prior to joining BeamPines, Mauricio was on staff at the Bronx VA Medical Center working with army veterans and their families. Under that position, he utilized assessments and therapy to uncover his client’s key strengths and leverage them in working to overcome and adapt to stressful and challenging situations. Mauricio has received specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral treatments and has successfully adapted these therapeutic modalities to coach clients in the executive environment.

Mauricio began his career as the manager of international sales and marketing at IDT/Net2Phone where he helped establish strategic relationships and joint ventures with companies around the world such as Telefonica, Embratel, and Deutsche Telecom.

Mauricio holds a Psy.D. and MA in Clinical Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University. He also earned his BA in Psychology from Yeshiva University with Cum Laude and Psychology honors. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and brings extensive multicultural training to the assessment and coaching practices.
